I have over 20 years experience as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. The first decade of experience was caring for children with Type 1 diabetes at the Barbara Davis Center. Our oldest son has Type 1 diabetes and he has been my inspiration to provide the best care possible for people with diabetes of all ages, lifestyles and needs.

During the second decade of experience, I worked in private practice endocrine care, then moved to Southern California and worked at Hoag Diabetes Center in Newport Beach, CA. I had the opportunity to work with MDs providing care of adults starting insulin, needing comprehensive education about diabetes self-management, and pump training. In 2013, when Medtronic started their new pump program, I started training children and adults on the newest pump and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) products. We moved to Nebraska, where I worked with people in rural areas doing pump upgrades, training on new pumps, and CGM systems as an independent trainer. We moved back to CO in July of 2018. I started working at Creekside Endocrine Associates in January 2019.

I work with you, the person with diabetes, as a part of the care team, to help you achieve your diabetes self-management goals. There are many new tools and tips that can be added to your diabetes toolbox to improve glucose "Time in Range", reduce barriers to success, and ultimately reduce health risk factors. You and your MA/PA will decide on the next step. Then, I would be the one who provides you with the knowledge and skills to start you on the new product, pens, pumps, CGMs with closed-loop systems. Data analysis from CGM devices is essential for effective diabetes management.

Whether you need full education, just a tune up, or would like to explore the possibilities with the new technology options, I would appreciate the opportunity to help you and your health care providers achieve the best possible outcomes to maximize quality of life with diabetes.

Life needs balance. I have God, a wonderful supportive husband, loving family- including grandchildren- to celebrate each day of life. Our two big dogs help me walk regularly and provide entertainment. I enjoy gardening, cooking healthy meals and just being with bountiful colors of each season.
