In an era where it’s easy to get caught up in the latest fads, we remain grounded in the fundamental elements of taking a thorough history, performing a careful exam, and utilizing over 25 years of experience to correctly diagnose and treat each individual patient. Dr. Zemel is board certified in endocrinology, with vast experience with common endocrine disorders such as thyroid disease and diabetes, as well as less common conditions such as adrenal and pituitary diseases. Dr. Zemel is also board certified in internal medicine, meaning we can provide primary care for adult patients without endocrine diseases, and can serve as a primary care provider for many of our patients with an endocrine diagnosis.
Using a team approach, we empower you and your family to make informed decisions about your health. In an age of information overload where everyone is getting advice from Dr. Google, friends and neighbors, we realize that background, experience and training puts us in a position to help you as a filter for this information. That is our best approach for the current situation in which we live. I have had a resident and medical student with me for just about every month for the last twenty five years--creating a tiny academic environment-- that is usually appreciated by those who like to see thoughts put out in front of them and discussed in many angles. This is the best form of care that can be delivered, combining the obsessiveness of the academic approach along with the sensibility of clinical experience.
Our interpretation of the team concept draws upon the knowledge of Dr. Zemel as a clinical professor, our nationally recognized endocrine PA, and the competitive nature of the trainees making the entourage a small "Creekside University" to broaden our thinking and discussion. Our diabetes educators take the concepts that we reach and bring the medical plan "To the Street". With two locations serving metro Denver, our office is easy to access and avoids the endless phone menus and barriers that stand in the way of you communicating directly with your health care providers. Call us at 303-388-6410 to make an appointment (in many cases same day appointments are available).
We still love to go to work for the diagnostic challenge. "If our waiting room is full of men with breasts and women with beards--that means we're having a good day!"
Diseases happen. We would love to help care for and figure out any endocrine dilemmas including:
